Noble Chess Privacy Policy

Effective 3 September 2026

Noble Chess works without an account, contains no advertising SDK and does not run its own user analytics. Google Play services may collect Nearby SDK performance analytics when you use Nearby play, as described below.

Data stored on your device

Your profile, optional avatar, settings, app-lock configuration, game progress, puzzle progress and game history are stored locally. Android cloud backup is disabled for Noble Chess. Clearing app storage or uninstalling removes this local data.

Nearby play

When you explicitly start a Nearby match, Google Play services helps two phones discover and connect. Your displayed name, optional avatar thumbnail, match settings and game messages are sent directly to the device you select. Older Android versions may require location permission or the device location switch for radio discovery; Noble Chess does not read or store your geographic location. Noble Chess does not keep a server copy of the match.

Google states that the Google Play services Nearby SDK collects usage analytics to improve Nearby: discovery and connection latency, reliability and throughput, together with device model, country, build version and the Noble Chess package name. Google associates that device information with the performance metrics. You can allow or deny this collection in Android under Settings > Google > Usage & diagnostics. See Google's Nearby Connections documentation.

Support

Feedback is not uploaded automatically. Submitting feedback opens a draft in your chosen email app. You can inspect, edit or cancel it before sending. If sent, your email provider and the Noble Chess support mailbox process the email. You may request deletion using the contact address below.

Purchases

Google Play processes purchases under Google's privacy policy. Noble Chess and its purchase-verification service receive no credit- or debit-card data. On your device, Noble Chess keeps the Google Play purchase token in Android encrypted storage so it can restore and revalidate paid access. The verification service receives the token over HTTPS for verification with Google Play but stores only a one-way SHA-256 hash of it, not the original token. It also stores the product identifier and type, purchase or subscription status, validity and acknowledgement information, and—when Google Play supplies them—the order identifier, subscription expiry time and consumption or revocation information. Technical timestamps and the app package name are also stored.

These purchase records are used only to verify and acknowledge purchases, provide and restore paid access, process subscription changes, cancellations, refunds or revocations, prevent abuse and resolve purchase problems. They are retained only for as long as needed for those purposes and applicable accounting, tax, fraud-prevention or legal obligations. You can request deletion using the contact address below. A record may need to be retained while an entitlement is active or where retention is required to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. Deleting a record can prevent Noble Chess from restoring the associated purchase.

Profile photos

The system photo picker opens only after you choose a profile image. The resulting local avatar is shared only when you explicitly connect to a Nearby opponent.

Contact and deletion

Email chess.noble.20@gmail.com for privacy questions or to request deletion of a support email or Noble Chess purchase record. Data kept only on your device is removed by clearing app storage or uninstalling the app. Google Play purchase and Nearby analytics data controlled by Google must be managed through your Google account or Android settings.
